Edmonton Media Hive

Resources for musicians and media artists to experiment with creation and performance technologies

Edmonton Public Library Makerspace

At the Makerspace you’ll find incredible technology and equipment for creating, collaborating and sharing. They have 3D printers, sound booths, and even a green screen to bring your creative ideas to life. Wondering what else is available? A better question might be, “what’s not?”

Film and Video Arts Society (FAVA)

When it comes to artistic vision, FAVA looks to its practicing members for direction to articulate and establish the co-op’s creative goals and directions. It is FAVA’s mission to create the resources and opportunities members need to realize those visions. FAVA welcomes practitioners from all areas and disciplines of the media arts: film, video, multimedia, animation, and installation artists among them.

Boreal Electroacoustic Music Society (BEAMS)

BEAMS has plans for hosting workshops in the near future.

Alberta Electronic Music

With a format based on world famous music conferences such as ADE, Red Bull Music Academy, or SONAR, AEMCON is the first conference of its kind in Western Canada. Combining keynote speeches by international headliners, workshops by industry veterans, panel discussions, mixers, and night-life events, this conference seeks to unite and strengthen Alberta’s electronic music community.

An electronic media arts centre established in 1979 and incorporated as a non-profit society in 1983, EMMEDIA is professionally managed and directed by practicing artists in Calgary. The Society responds to a broad community by offering affordable access to media art production tools, services, to technical and educational support, and to an array of public exhibition programs.
